Photo of Friends in Utah: After
Yesterday, I posted a photo that came straight out of the camera (not counting the RAW to JPG conversion done in Lightroom). Today, I present one of an infinite number of ways to post-process it.
My first objective was to change the composure to put more emphasis on Kasey and Chris (on the right in the background). To maintain the 3x2 ratio, I unfortunately had to sacrifice most of Amy (on the left in the yellow hat). I then decreased the exposure by one stop because the original looked too bright. To compensate for the darkening of Kasey's face, I increased the fill light by 15%. Lastly, my camera's auto white balance caused the photo to look too warm for my taste, so I changed the white balance to daylight, which cast a bluer tint over the entire photo.
I think Kasey's face is still too dark, but I prefer the modified version over the original.
